Nemasys Grow-Your-Own Multi-Pest nematode packs

Each pack contains a mix of nematodes which targets all the key insects pests on vegetables and fruit including Carrot and Cabbage Root Fly, Leatherjackets, Cutworm, Onion Fly, Ants, Sciarids, Caterpillars, Gooseberry Saw Fly, Thrips and Codling Moth.

The nematodes attack the young ('larvae') before they have a chance to attack, before even you might have noticed their presence.

Supplied in Multi-Packs.... All the target pests will be emerging at different times, and it is important to hit them just when they are vulnerable - that is when the larvae are active. So the best plan is to repeat the applications weekly or fortnightly during the time of year when you know you are going to be at risk. For that reason we sell the packs either in multiples (duos or triples), so that we can post you enough for either two or three applications.

Don't forget that these are live animals, and cannot be stored - their shelf life is up to 40 days. If you need more than three applications you can order more than one multi-pack and choose separate delivery dates.

Targeting soil pests... The nematodes arrive as a paste which is mixed with water. For soil pests you apply around the roots of your plants using a hose feeder or a watering can. There is enough in each pack to cover 60 square metres. Water it into the moist soil from April to July and the nematodes will attack all those near-invisible pests which like to nibble at plant roots. They include Carrot Root Fly, Cabbage Root Fly, Cutworm, Onion Fly

Can also be used as a foliar spray for pests above ground..Some pests don't live in the soil and need to be targeted overground. Wait until you can see your targets (caterpillars) or at least signs of their activity (thrips, sawfly). Then spray all the infected areas, aiming directly at the targets. Contact with the pest is essential. As you are not going to hit 100% first time around, and as more might hatch out, it is important to do more than one application. Three applications are recommended at approximately weekly intervals.
